Batter: Add water to flour until a thin, runny consistency (similar to crepes, thinner than pancakes).
Dip: grate daikon (or radish) into soy sauce, put on small plates.
Cut into long strips:
carrot (long, thin strips)
green onion
onion rings
shrimp
squid
sweet potato (yellow)
green peppers
mushrooms
Dip a few strips or slices into batter. Cover with bread crumbs (panko), if desired. Deep fat fry. Serve with dip and rice.
