Sukiyaki

Sauce:
Mix equal parts of soy sauce and sugar.

Prepare the following in thin strips or slices for easy cooking:
lean beef
bean threads (ito konyaku)
mushrooms (enoki are best, button will do)
soaked shiitake mushrooms
tofu
vegetables, such as:
carrots – cut in long thin strips
onions
green onions
green peppers
pea pods
bean sprouts
Chinese cabbage (nappa)
etc.

Heat grill, pour sauce on grill, heat until bubbling, add desired ingredients, and cook until done. Save wetter vegetables for the end as they tend to dilute the sauce. Serve with rice and raw egg, if desired.
