Whole wheat bread
Butter or margarine
Extra sharp cheddar cheese
Water
Frying pan with lid.
Toast the bread. (Grandpa Lawrence didn’t toast his bread, but he usually used slightly old homemade bread.)
Slice the cheese into fairly thin slices.
Put a little butter in the bottom of a frying pan and heat it until it is hot enough to cook pancakes.
Put cheese on the toast and put the toast in the pan.
Put about 3 Tsp of water in the pan to the sides of the bread and cover the pan.
It is ready as soon as the cheese has melted and the toast has become a little crispy.
